Hold it. The text is the same as in: Train Your Mind Change Your Brain.
This one here is just a new edition, with a different title.
Somewhere someone made a mistake.
Rating: - Excellent Book
Easy to read for scientists and non-scientists alike. This book brought me a sense of hope.
Rating: - Little info
After many pages, the book just tell me that
- my character is 50% gene and 50% environment.
- I can change my brain by changing my thinking.
A lot of scientific evidence for little info.
Rating: - Too brainy for me.
I judge a book by how easy it is for me to follow. This was not an easy read. Now, granted that we are all wired differently, but this was not wired for me.
Rating: - A wonderful, readable book that illustrates new insights in mind science.
Sharon Begley does an extraordinary job of explaining and supporting the scientific PROOF that it is possible to change the structure and function of the brain. Additionally she introduces us to practical methods of mindfulness as a means of generating new neurons throughout our lifetime. This concept of neuroplasticity and "changing your brain" offers a hopefulness to those who suffer from depression, anxiety and other emotional and behavioral problems.
