Editorial Review:
Product Description: Classically wrought in the ways of the sages, the beautifully penned and much-anticipated second print of Ponder Awhile shares the complexities of life as a simple and accessible dose of spirit and soul stuff. Author and poet Mohit K. Misra leaves no stone unearthed as he dons the robes of a mystic, though is plainspoken, lilting, and at times, playful with his language and words. Written as Dohas or couplets, each stanza of the fifty-one poems found in this collection chases the glow of a new dawn of world enlightenment. Straightforward, uncomplicated and wise, with titles such as "Mother Earth," "Married to the Light," "Charity," and "Peace," the author examines and dissects the frailty of life, the inevitability of death and the most tender part of the stalk and the root. These poems are necessary, irresistible and evolved. Courageous in their simple message, God and His many faces are pressed into the window box for all to see and celebrate. The poet encourages introspection, deliberation, mediation and the search for deeper meaning. His poems of praise, poems of contemplation and poems of provocation sing God's praises, His justice and His grace. Knowledge leads to understanding, which leads to peace and, finally, to love. It is what the world needs-a little of God's love, the fabric, the sheer essence; the gems of the universe unfold on these pages. And we are, as readers, better for these gifts.

In the pages of Ponder Awhile, poet Mohit Misra takes the reader on an introspective journey through the unexplored depths of the heart and soul. Touching on a variety of topics, ranging from life to love to war to the nature of God Himself, Misra's collection expounds on questions that have haunted the corners of the human mindscape for centuries, offering his own thought-provoking insights along the way.
Consider, for example, this passage from "What":

In 2003, while sailing in the Atlantic ocean, merchant sailor Mohit Misra had a moment of enlightenment. So much so, the previously confirmed atheist gave up his career to begin writing and convey his thoughts through couplets/dohas. The result is a collection of poems found in Ponder Awhile.
Honestly, poetry is not my typical reading genre; readers of this review should keep that in mind. I found some of Mohit's offerings did cause me to ponder awhile. Those dealing with religion, ... Read More

If I could rate this poetry book lower than 1 star, I would. Unfortunately, I cannot. The poetry shows a complete lack of development and talent. At times the poems are actually ridiculous and appear as if they have been written by a small child. The only question they made me ponder was "Why the heck was this book ever written?"

I looked inside the book before purchasing it and liked the poem that was shown. Well low and behold, when I received the book, I realized that it was indeed the only nice poem afterall. I am most disappointed with this book!
