Editorial Review:
Product Description: In the second decade of the twenty-first century the world is struck by two catastrophes, a new mini-ice age and, nearly simultaneously, a plague to dwarf all previous experiences. Rising out of the disaster is the character known to history as “Bandit Six” an American Army officer caught up in the struggle to rebuild the world and prevent the fall of his homeland—despite the best efforts of politicians both elected and military. The Last Centurion is a memoir of one possible future, a world that is a darkling mirror of our own. Written “blog-style,” it pulls no punches in its descriptions of junk science, bad strategy and organic farming not to mention all three at once

The first part of this book needs a lobotomy. Delete 90% of this part then go to the 2nd part where the real book begins. The language is coarse. Been around the
military as a child growing up and served in it. Never heard officers use the amount of coarse language as described by author in the book lighten up on it geez!

I am not going to give a synopsis of The Last Centurion, others have already done that. Instead, I think that if you read the reviews here you will find something interesting. In the book the main character discusses Ants and Grasshoppers, not to mention a type of people known as Kumbayas. I'm willing to bet that if you read the book and then read these reviews it will be easy to see who are Grasshoppers and Kumbayas.
I will always strive to be an Ant.
Still want an actual ... Read More

to put it in "Bandit Six's" words. This entire novel was one long, tedious ultra-right-wing rant with only tiny glimmers of a tale peeking out every now and then. More's the shame because the wooden, intolerant and tiresome raving wipes out a terribly fascinating plot. I was continuously skimming ahead through the book to find any little bit of story I could cling to. No dice. As written, this novel is a complete snore and gives new meaning to the phrase "work of fiction," if you know what I mean. ... Read More

A very fun book with sly digs at all sorts of current topics.
I'm not sure if the rough editing is part of the persona of "Bandit Six," but perhaps an edit pass would have helped some of the rougher transitions.
