I've read and re-read Mr. Shepard's Aiming at Amazon book several times over the last year. More importantly, it's the first and only reference on the most important subject for publishers of books who want to sell books. Period. This and subsequent books by Aaron Shepard are essential for all publishers. The old days of writing a book and submitting to publishers and waiting and waiting and hoping and hoping are gone. Now, with POD, Publishing on Demand, books are ordered online and shipped within ... Read More

I was interested in learning more about self-publishing. This particular book made its way into my hands and then told me EXACTLY HOW IT GOT THERE. Normally, I would totally bypass a goofy looking book like this, but somehow it got me to open it up.
Inside it talked about the search engine keywords it had specifically used so that it was easily findable. That's how I found it - library search engine.

As someone who has self-published over 30 books, I must say that this is one of the best How-To books on the market. I have personally used dozens of the tactics that the author has put in this book, and I will continue to use more of them along the way. There are a bunch of good book marketing titles out there, but this is definitely one of the ones you need to own.
Enjoy!

Mr. Shepard writes a beautifully short, but advice/information packed book. I read the book in about two days (it's hard to put down), but after three or four months I am still referring back to it.
When he gives tips he writes short and to the point. There is no cushion or filling to make the book fat (like others I have read which just ends up wasting time)
On a side note, I went to a webinar which cost me 20 dollars. The speaker was full of hot air and just tried to sell ... Read More

When I bought this book, all I knew is that I had some ideas of books that I wanted to write, but I really didn't know how I was going to go about it. When I read this book, I felt like my eyes had been opened to the possibilities that were before me. I found the book Amazon-ingly inspirational: the techniques described were no-nonsense, straight-forward and very easy to understand. I also found the tone of the writing to be so, for want of a better word, wonderful. I felt that it was so warm and friendly, ... Read More
