Editorial Review:
Amazon.com Review: A series of bizarre and brutal murders is taking place in the halls of the New York Museum of Natural History, only days before a massive exhibition is set to open. Margo Green knows that the killer is something not human, something that's not even supposed to exist. Where did it come from, how did it get into the museum, and how can it be stopped?
Product Description: Just days before a massive exhibition opens at the popular New York Museum of Natural History, visitors are being savagely murdered in the museum's dark hallways and secret rooms. Autopsies indicate that the killer cannot be human...
But the museum's directors plan to go ahead with a big bash to celebrate the new exhibition, in spite of the murders.
Museum researcher Margo Green must find out who-or what-is doing the killing. But can she do it in time to stop the massacre?

I'm so glad to see this book on Kindle. I read it years ago and the scenes inside the dark museum stuck with me.
Nice pacing, clever plot. Terrific read for the beach or commuting or anytime you want to escape.

Only innate stubbornness enabled me to finish this book.
I understand that "Relic" was made into a feature movie, which is hardly a surprise. The book's plot progresses exactly like a "B" movie, complete with a composite monster, artificial situations, and unrealistic characters. Like many movies, the authors don't seem to credit the reader with a minute of common sense, focusing on one or two elements in every chapter like a lingering camera shot so the readers don't miss the importance. ... This is an excellent read. My four-star rating is due to a slight confusion with so many characters in similar jobs at the museum (at least to me) and a bit of a heavy hand with the technical stuff. It also could have used a tad more romance.
I was drawn the main characters - particularly Pendergast, Margo, Brock and Smithback. Though I relished the movie's version of D'Agusta. Penelope Ann Miller was perfect as Margo. Stronger in the movie, I felt. Having seen the movie many times and loved ... Read More

This book got my attention from the very beginning and I could not put this book down until I finished. It was action-packed, spooky, and a very amazing read. Everything is written in such great detail so the scenes appear vividly in my mind. There isn't a spot in this book that drags. There were parts in the book that completely creeped me out! I wanted something to read during my winter vacation and this was it. I went through a ton of mysteries, thrillers, fantasies, and romance novels, but none of them ... Read More

.... and yet, I liked it. I could have done with a few hundred less curse words, but you sort of understand that these guys are having an all around bad few weeks here. Sure, the characters are a bit flat. The monster in the basement is kinda cool. Characters that grown and change are always a plus, but if you've got enough action to distract you, overlooking that sort of thing becomes easier.
Definitely not a children's story, though I suppose parts of it were too ridiculous to be anything but ... Read More
