Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Beautiful story
Very enjoyable! I read the second book too and am impatiently waiting for the third!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good enough to buy the next 2 books
The Daisy Chain is a wonderful example of the art of story-telling; colorful language, laden with imagery and emotion, captures the essence of life in small-town Texas as a young teenage boy wrestles with difficult questions beyond his years. The innocence of first love, the exploration of dysfunctional families, the difference between religion and faith, the realities of this harsh world and how people cope, an unsolved mystery- all cleverly and believably woven into a unique tapestry that beckons ... Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Hated Daisy Chain
This was a terrible book. I did not realize until i read it that there was such a strong religious overtone at every page. The book story shows terrible values with the preacher physically and verbally abusing his wife and children on a regular basis so they become subservient to him. The story line and the ending of the book is even more troubling. What type of social skills and morale is this book recommending to young people. I will never have bought this book if I had known any of this.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Daisy Chain: A Novel
I was very unhappy with this book, I felt like I was being preached at every sentence.Story took to long to get to the point and even then, I was upset with the ending. I don't think I'll read the next one and it will be a long time before I read another spiritual book.

This book is all too real, with so many of the horrible things that really do happen in life. It brings a new dimension to the normal books and television shows...that being, can we control or choose how the things that happen in our lives impact our beliefs about ourselves, the colors through which we see ...
